- Stephen Kings eigene Webseite berichtete am 18. Mai 2014 zum ersten Mal vom Projekt. So soll Mike Flanagan die Regie bei der Verfilmung übernehmen. Zusammen mit Jeff Howard hatte er das Drehbuch bereits verfasst. Produziert wird der Film von Trevor Macy und Intrepid Pictures.
